7 Books I’ve Read This Year

I read 6 books in January and I’ve finished another one this month.

My goal for the year is to read 40 books. I’ve been tracking my reading in goodreads and its cheering for me!  If you’re looking for a place to track your reading and to get some recommendations, goodreads is a great resource.

Here’s what I’ve read.

  1. Mr. Penumbra’s 24 Hour Bookstore
  2. Teaching From Rest
  3. Audacious
  4. Humble Roots
  5. The Way of the Dragon or the Way of the Lamb
  6. The 12 Week Year
  7. This is the Story of a Happy Marriage

Up next is, Keeping Place:Reflections on the Meaning of Home.

I’ve started it and already have lots of underlining!

So far, my favorite one has been The Way of the Dragon or the Way of the Lamb. It gave me a million things to think about. If you have any interest in church health and sometimes feel a little uncomfortable with some of the ways the local church pursues growth and influence, you need to read this.

Go get it now. Right now! Read it and then drop me a note and we can talk about it together!

My least favorite was This is the Story of a Happy Marriage. Usually, I love memoir. I was surprised to find myself not liking it. I had to force myself to finish it. By the way, if you start to not like a book, do you give yourself permission to stop reading?

Now it’s your turn to boss me around. What books are you loving?
