What I Learned This Summer

For almost a year, I’ve been recording what I’ve learned at the end of each season.

Here’s a list of a few things I learned this summer:

*I learned more about the personality God gave me. It’s given me powerful insights into what areas of growth I need to work on to be healthy. I highly recommend reading The Road Back to You. So very good! I’m a 2!

***

*At the end of this summer, I had my first experience with Back to School shopping off a list given from a school. I learned you can do some amazing people-watching in the Back to School section. I almost had a panic attack second-guessing myself. Sometimes, in the middle of the school aisle, you wonder if you actually know what a wedge eraser is.

***

*I learned there is a ferry crossing in the middle of Illinois. It’s run by the Illinois Department of Transportation and it runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You drive your car onto the ferry that fits about 5 vehicles and it takes you across the river.

***

*Our summer calendar overwhelmed me. I need to figure out how to pace our summer activities better.  Anyone have any great tips for juggling this stuff?

***

*I love leisurely walks around the neighborhood. It has become one my favorite ways to get a little exercise and spend time with my husband.

What did you learn?

I’m linking up with a bunch of other cool folks who are sharing what they are learning at Emily Freeman’s blog.
