That is very true, Amy. The question isn’t very clear. Really the teacher should have asked, “What about the number tells you that it is even?” or something like that, focused on the number. The little girl was just focused on herself, as kids that age are! I can’t believe the teacher marked it wrong, when the girl obviously just misunderstood the question.
I thought it was such a funny answer. I also empathized with the girl. When you know the answer to something that seems so simple, it can be really hard to explain how you know it’s that answer or why it’s true. I’m not sold on the teacher’s answer either;-)
